Armow Wind is a partnership between Pattern Energy and Samsung Renewable Energy. Located near the shores of Lake Huron, the Armow Wind facility uses Ontario-made turbines to generate economic benefits for the region.
Armow Wind’s Community Benefits Program includes nearly $13 million donated over 20 years into a Community Benefit Reserve Fund administered by the Municipality. The Fund supports community infrastructure, services, education, recreation, and land stewardship, among other causes.

Electricity produced by the 180 MW facility is equal to the annual needs of ~170,000 Ontarians and sold to the Independent Electricity System Operator under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Ontario committed to phasing out coal-fired generation in 2002 and wind energy development helped the province meet that goal in 2014. Today, wind turbines harness the wind across the province to generate homegrown energy without harmful emissions.
